Mary Kay Cottrill

Having been exposed to a variety of classical ballet forms, The Royal Academy of Dancing, Cecchetti and Vaganova, has made Mary Kay a versatile dancer. Her dance training began in Southern California receiving "Highly Commended and Honors" and is the first graduating class of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.
Attending the ABT National Training Curriculum in NYC, the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet Training Course in St. Petersburg, Russia and The Teaching Artist Professional Development Workshop in Kansas City has given her an opportunity to rediscover herself and continue to grow and evolve. Through this evolution, she has been an instructor for the Community Engagement and Education Program, the Kansas City Ballet School and is delighted to be back instructing at the CoffeeMill Dance Studio.
Her professional career includes the Long Beach Ballet, Chicago Lyric Opera Ballet, Pennsylvania-Milwaukee Ballet, Ballet West, Tau Dance Theatre, Hawaii State Ballet, Corpus Christi Ballet, Ballet Florida, the LBB Ambassador Tour to China, Paradise Dance Theatre, Key West Contemporary Dance Company and Key West Dance Collective.
She has received scholarships and awards from the School of American Ballet, Chicago City Ballet, Marin Ballet, Ballet West, Houston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Hartford Ballet and the Norris Foundation Dance Award.
Credits from Movie, Television and Theatre include Six Weeks, Fame, Class Acts, Clio Award, Levi's, National Geographic Documentary, Liberty House, The King and I, The Flower Drum Song and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
