Katharine Doughty

Instructor of Postmodern and Improvisational Dance

Katharine Doughty studied postmodern dance, somatics and visual art at Hampshire College, paving the way for her work as a multimodal artist, massage therapist and movement educator, and eventually leading her to training at Tamalpa Institute with Anna and Daria Halprin.

Working with natural, pedestrian and improvisational movement, experiential anatomy and mind/body awareness, her approach inspires both artists and “non-artists” across disciples, ages, abilities, and backgrounds by sparking embodied creativity and assisting in personal growth. Dancing at mile zero since 2003, Katharine is an ISMETA registered somatic educator and somatic based expressive arts therapist. She offers classes, workshops and one to one sessions.
