Instructor of Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Contemporary, Musical Theatre
Lauren Thompson began practicing yoga in 2004 but only recently has gained teacher status after completing her 200 hour teacher training with Shakti Yoga. Her journey to the mat began in her early 20’s when she was searching for an exercise to supplement for her ballet and jazz training. After years of dance she discovered that adult classes are hard to come by and moved into the world of yoga to maintain her flexibility, balance, and movement practices. Yoga turned into a true love and has proven the greatest physical and mental expression, accompanying her through two decades of life, pregnancy, and her new role as mother. Her yoga style incorporates much of what she learned in her dancer training, with a strong focus on flexibility and mobility. Her vinyasa flow incorporates a strong, full body stretch before moving into a vigorous, heart elevated flow. The journey on the mat is completed with another full body stretch to allow for the muscles to settle and to prevent soreness from the more physical aspects of the practice. With a strong focus on breath support and mental release she hopes her multi age/multi level practice will engage, enlighten, and energize all who attend.
